WiK is proud to announce that we will be showcasing some of the poets amongst our members in a Poetry and Impro event at the Gnome on June 25.  This will be our big June event, following the success of our World War One readings last year.  Poets lined up for the occasion include Mark Richardson, Mayumi Kawaharada, Preston Houser and Jim Woodham. We hope too to feature some poems by A.J. Dickinson and a tribute reading of Edith Shiffert.  Improvisational interludes will be by two of Kyoto’s very finest musicians, Preston Houser on shakuhachi and Gary Tegler on saxophone.  There will be two sessions, lasting about 40 minutes each interspersed with a break for drinking and socialising.  It promises to be a spontaneous, surprising, creative and fun event, so please make a special note in your diaries.
