Our annual keynote address will be given this year by Eric Johnston, whose name is widely known as head of the Kansai Office of The Japan Times. This is the major recruiting occasion of Writers in Kyoto, when we ask people to renew their membership fee. It is also our main occasion for socialising, in keeping with the Japanese tradition of spring renewal. (Previous years have seen talks by Amy Chavez, columnist for The Japan Times, and Robert Yellin, ceramics expert and gallery owner.) Please therefore make a note of the date and be sure to join us for what should be a most enjoyable get-together (details to come later).
